Unfortunately, with the discontinuation of the Cube printers, the original website and contest information was taken down.
This was a tough design to nail down. I was still learning how best to use my 3D tools so I manually traced each vein! It took a lot of time.
If I were to do it again, I'd use image tracing software for a quick and dirty trace of a photo of a leaf that would likely need editing to increase the contrast between the veins and leaf flesh.
If I were to do it meticulously, I'd trace the veins with the pen tool in Illustrator, set a stroke thickness, expand the appearance, and then combine for a clean, spline DXF that I could export to Fusion.
