Once the threat of Covid-19 started to set in. I wanted to find a way to contribute. Although I'm doing critical services at my work, I felt idle at home and wanted to contribute in a way that is uniquely me.
I saw that my friend Chris at You3dit was printing tools for opening doors. I couldn't find the file he was using so I decided to design my own with an iterative process. Print out a rough geometry, use it for two days, and then add improvements based on my use. After 7 iterations I landed on a version I was comfortable sharing.
